Hollywood’s looking to make a few Tubmans — two, to be exact. Deadline reports that a film about the life of Harriet Tubman, the former slave who became a crucial part of the Underground Railroad, is in the works. Called Harriet, the project’s set to be directed by Seith Mann (Homeland), with a script from Gregory Allen Howard (Remember the Titans). Marco and New Balloon are financing the film. Meanwhile, Viola Davis is currently developing a Tubman project at HBO, which means we may be heading for a case of Capote vs. Infamous once again. More importantly, who will play Harriet in this project? And is Octavia Spencer free?
