When Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk premiered at the New York Film Festival earlier this month, critics started churning out 120 words per minute on Lee’s decision to shoot the movie on 4K cameras in 3D at 120 frames per second. Perhaps in response to claims that the clarity of the film makes the film’s more realistic, everyday moments feel awkward and contrived, the new Billy Lynn trailer concerns itself less with the movie’s visually impressive scenes (which you can see in the first trailer below) and more with Billy himself (played by Joe Alwyn), as he returns to the U.S. a war hero, only to find his actions used as part of a patriotic message he has no control over. Kristen Stewart also stars as Billy’s sister, while Garrett Hedlund, Chris Tucker, and Steve Martin fill out the rest of the cast. And if new, burgeoning movie technology isn’t enough to get you in that theater seat, hey, there’s plenty of Vin Diesel to go around. The movie comes out on November 11, with a wide release scheduled for November 18.
