The weirdest thing happened on The Tonight Show on Wednesday. Jimmy Fallon, the show’s host, and Mark Ruffalo, his celebrity guest, played the Best Friend Challenge, and the results made it seem like Fallon and Ruffalo were … not very good friends at all! Indeed, if you were judging just by how well they each did, ignoring the obvious friend chemistry built from years of soul-baring camaraderie, you might’ve guessed that Fallon and Ruffalo were more like friendly colleagues working with tandem mercenary interests. You wouldn’t have known that they are two people who have shared their hopes, their fears, and the intricate, complicated rhythms of their hearts. You certainly wouldn’t have guessed about the pair’s matching BFF leather wrist cuffs. Like we said, weird.
