Sure, the teaser for Paul Feigâs new Ghostbusters movie is the most-hated movie trailer on YouTube; and sure, the fact that this hate is directed at a remake of a film with female leads is proof that sexism is alive, well, and prevalent in America; but the studio behind the film, at least, is sitting pretty. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sonyâs movie chief Tim Rothman said that he and the studio are thrilled that the internet hate over the new Ghostbusters has become a major news story. âItâs the greatest thing that ever happened,â Rothman said. âAre you kidding me? Weâre in the national debate, thank you. Can we please get some more haters to say stupid things?â Rothman goes on to add that Bill Murray saw the movie last week and âsaid how great it was.â Yeah, thatâll make the trolls even more mad, he probably whispered to himself as he left the interview. So mad theyâll buy three tickets each!
