Watch the Trailer for Terrence Malick’s Voyage of Time If You Enjoy Sublime Beauty, or the Voice of Cate Blanchett

Another trailer for Terrence Malick’s decades-in-the-making Voyage of Time has arrived, and it is so gorgeous it almost makes you rethink what our small speck of humanity is even trying to do in the universe. Oh, and the soothing voices of movies stars are nice, too. The film moves “from the birth of the stars and galaxies to the explosion of diverse life forms on planet Earth, including humankind,� according to a press release — finally, we get The Tree of Life without any of that plot and character business. Cate Blanchett is narrating the 90-minute version of the film, which will premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival, while the 40-minute IMAX edition narrated by Brad Pitt will premiere October 7.
