Like many people on the morning F train, John Crowley is working on The Goldfinch, and he has Brooklyn behind him. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Crowley will direct Warner Bros.’ adaptation of Donna Tartt’s sprawling novel, which won the Pulitzer for fiction in 2014. Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) wrote the screenplay. Presumably the film will mimic Atonement and cast young and old versions of its 13 and later 26-year-old central character, Theo Decker. Of course, for the latter, Brooklyn dreamboat Emory Cohen is right there.
