It’s as good as getting someone double pregnant: Catastrophe has a two-season renewal! The greatest union between the U.K. and the U.S. since World War II will be back for two more seasons on Britain’s Channel 4 and on Amazon in the U.S. “We are thrilled to be making a third season of Catastrophe,†Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, who write and star in the show, said in a statement. “Rob and Sharon are a blast to spend time with. And we’re not talking about ourselves in the third person, we’re talking about the characters. We’re eager to breathe life back into Rob and Sharon. Okay, now we are talking about us.â€
Delaney tweeted that he and Horgan have begun writing together; the duo writes all of the episodes without a writer’s room. While promoting season two, Horgan told Vulture that unlike the second season, which began with a time jump, season three would “begin with that very syllable†— as in, pick up immediately from where season two left off. Production begins later this year, in November, and Catastrophe season three will premiere on Channel 4 next year.
