There’s no doubt, people love to argue. Trump vs Hillary, NYC vs LA, cats vs dogs – everyone’s got an opinion. So who better to settle such long-running debates than Michael Ian Black, beloved comedian and general expert of things? That’s the idea behind Debate Wars, a game show that pits two teams of comedians and improvisers against each other to help solve some of the world’s greatest arguments.
Debate Wars, filmed in front of a live audience, features some pretty amazing guests, from standups including Janeane Garofalo, Judah Friedlander, Gilbert Gottfriend, Eugene Mirman, Todd Barry, Guy Branum, Andy Dick, Phoebe Robinson, Dave Hill, and Aparna Nancherla (who also serves as the show’s supervising producer) to acclaimed performers like Connor Ratliff and Jo Firestone. Brandon Scott Jones and Morgan Grace Jarrett, both top improvisers at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York, will act as Black’s sidekicks, providing color commentary throughout the heated matches.
The series premieres September 22nd on Seeso.
