It’s been a long wait for fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David’s wildly popular, quasi-autobiographical comedy that’s been on hiatus since 2011, but we’ve finally got some good news: according to HBO, the show’s ninth season will begin production as early as this fall, with a projected 2017 premiere.
The details are few so far, with the cast beyond David still up in the air; Cheryl Hines, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and JB Smoove are likely returning, along with a production team that includes Alec Berg (Silicon Valley). Whatever the ten-episode season brings, I’m certain Seinfeld co-creator David will continue to do what he does best: artfully make viewers feel the profound awkwardness of being Larry David.
