They, of course, all want to be more confident and express themselves in unique and artistic ways, and in 1983, what was a more effective expression of self than hair? Colette Burson, who was an executive producer on the HBO show Hung and also did some writing for FX’s The Riches, will direct the movie based on a script of her own. Permanent’s tagline is “hairstyles are temporary, but family is forever,†which isn’t as good as “your hairdresser does it better,†the slogan for the 1975 hair-based comedy Shampoo, and is probably equally as good as “you can’t stop the beat,†the catchphrase from 2007’s Hairspray.
