From the Upper East Side to the Marvel Universe, let the ascent of Sebastian Stan continue. Coming off the success of Captain America: Civil War earlier this year, THR reports that the actor will star in a film adaptation of We Have Always Lived in the Castle, based on the 1962 novel by Shirley Jackson. Produced by Michael Douglas, the horror-thriller narrative follows “an isolated family, which has already lost four members to poisoning, that uses rituals and talismans to keep itself away from hostile townspeople.†A distant cousin intent on “maliciously securing the family’s fortune†soon arrives, which sets up a chain of events uncovering tantalizing family secrets. Stan’s role would make Carter Baizen enthusiasts proud: He’ll portray the antagonistic cousin, Charles Blackwood. (Hey, what else are you going to do if you get cut off from your trust fund? Con Nate Archibald into another high-stakes game of poker?)
