A smoldering art-cinema dream team is assembling for the movie Based on a True Story. It will be directed by Roman Polanski, who is co-writing with Olivier Assayas (recent winner of the director prize at Cannes for Personal Shopper), and the production has just brought on Eva Green to star alongside Emmanuelle Seigner in the psychological drama, according to Variety. Seigner will play a writer “whose life and mind are endangered by an obsessive woman,†played by Green. And if you want a performer who specializes in playing women with no boundaries and who frequently inhabits characters that embark on incredibly intense and inappropriate romantic relationships, there is really no one more suited than Green. (See: the sexually tense dynamics with a twin brother in Dreamers, a student in her charge at an all-girls boarding school in Cracks, her son who is also the genetic clone of her dead boyfriend in Womb.) The screenplay will be adapted in French from the novel based on the same name by Delphine de Vigan. You can’t handle this much smokey eye.
