The film-festival world isn’t just revolving around Toronto right now. Lav Diaz’s sweeping drama The Woman Who Left snapped up the Venice Film Festival’s Golden Lion award earlier today, while Tom Ford’s noir Nocturnal Animals stole the Grand Jury Prize. Meanwhile, Emma Stone and Oscar Martinez each took home a Volpi Cup for La La Land and El Ciudadano Ilustre respectively, and Noah Oppenheim won Best Screenplay for the Natalie Portman Jacqueline Onassis biopic Jackie.
