Strap in folks, because we’ve got another late-night war on our hands. This one’s different from the shake-ups of the past though, insofar as it’s all in Larry Wilmore’s head. Wilmore, recently decamped from The Nightly Show, appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Thursday — and not as a guest, but as an usurper. Naturally assuming that clearing out of the 10:30 p.m. slot on Comedy Central meant inhering The Late Show berth, Wilmore opened the show with a monologue, and it went great! Right up until Colbert’s arrival, that is. From there, tempers flared, egos reared, and things got … polite.
