The only thing better than getting your own late-night talk show is writing and starring in a film about a late-night talk show (less work, more wardrobe options). According to Variety, Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson will star in a movie Kaling wrote, and it will be produced by Scott Rudin, Howard Klein, and Kaling. The film follows a celebrated late-night talk-show host, played by Thompson, who could lose her long-running show when she hires her first female writer, played by Kaling. Sources describe the film as The Devil Wears Prada meets Broadcast News. Kaling will also be in the Ocean’s Eleven reboot Ocean’s Eight, starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, and more.
