The best things come in pairs. For example, Twix, Obama biopics, movies about CGI ants, uh, end of list. A week after director Vikram Gandhi’s Barry premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, Netflix snapped up the worldwide rights to this year’s second Obama biopic. Unlike the slightly older, more established Barack in this summer’s Southside With You, Barry focuses on the young Chicagoan’s decision to finish college at Columbia and his experience in New York. Actor Devon Terrell stars in Barry, which all but begs a comparison to Southside’s Parker Sawyers and his depiction of the future leader of the free world. Who will prove to be a better Barry? Two Barrys enter. Only two leave. They’re just movies. They can both be good.
