Saturday Night Live surprised comedygoers last month by announcing featured players Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah wouldn’t be returning to Studio 8H for season 42, but don’t worry too much about Pharoah’s fate — he nabbed his own Showtime pilot (along with Killam!), has plans to release a mixtape, and continues to have some of the finest impression skills in today’s comedy scene. So, while you may still feel compelled to send Lorne Michaels an angry email or 20, sit back and enjoy this new video of Pharoah’s uncanny impressions of famous black actors, where no one is safe from his expertise … regardless of the scenario. You hear that? It’s the sound of SNL writers weeping.
