While a legitimate Abba reunion is being waited on with bated breath — the one earlier this year at a private Stockholm gala doesn’t fully count — you can take a take-a-chance-take-a-chance-take-a-chance-chance-chance with something a little more virtual. The massively popular Swedish quartet, in collaboration with American Idol’s Simon Fuller, have announced a “virtual and live experience†with “groundbreaking†technology that will revolve around the band and is set to launch in 2018. The Guardian reports that the venture has the full support of the four members, and is described as utilizing “the very latest in digital and virtual-reality technology … which will enable a new generation of fans to see, hear, and feel Abba in a way previously unimagined.†Information is scarce, but other details are expected to be revealed in the next few months. How could we ever refuse such a thing?
