Great news for all those wonderful people out there in the dark. Glenn Close returns to the role she was born to play, and arguably has been playing this entire time: Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical version of Sunset Boulevard. Close won the Tony for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for the role in the show’s 1995 run. The new Sunset run, a “semi-staged concert production†with a 40-piece orchestra, begins previews February 2 and opens February 9 at the Palace Theater. Bad news for all you Knobs Slobs out there, because obviously this means Albert Knobs 2 is not Glenn’s top priority for 2017 anymore.
