It’s been almost five months since Jennifer Aniston wrote that Huffington Post op-ed slamming tabloids for their constant speculation about her love life, and she’s still fed up. On Ellen, Aniston explained the incident that led to her penning the piece. “I had hit a wall,†she said. “I was pretty raw at the time, I just came back from a vacation, and my mother had passed.†After paparazzi photos sparked pregnancy rumors, she was tired of seeing herself objectified on tabloid covers. “[Tabloid writers] love the narrative, they love the story, they love the ‘she’s jealous of this person,’ and ‘she’s depressed,’ and ‘oh my gosh, she’s never going to have a child,’†Aniston explained. “Whatever the horrible little headline is, we’ve just got to break out of that.†The news business certainly has plenty of problems these days, but she’s got a point.
