The creators of the upcoming Archie Comics TV adaptation Riverdale are fond of calling it “Archie meets Twin Peaks,†which, honestly, sounds like an idea ripe for eye-rolling camp. But the first teaser-trailer for the show — which debuts January 27 — has arrived, and it looks like it’s firmly in the Pretty Little Liars and Veronica Mars vein of high-school intrigue and dangerous mystery. Nary a campy wink is to be found. Even if you’re not into the concept for the show, we dare you to look at Archie Andrews actor KJ Apa’s six-pack and not get at least a little intrigued.
