Jim Jefferies might be getting his own Comedy Central show. Yesterday, The Interrobang noted that the Australian comedian is set to tape a show for the network next week, and today Comedy Central confirmed with us that the project, tentatively titled The Jim Jefferies Show, has been given a pilot order. Here’s more on the pilot from Comedy Central:
Australian comic Jim Jefferies turns his brash and perceptive point of view on politics and current events, both in the U.S. and around the globe in the Comedy Central pilot, The Jim Jefferies Show (working title). Fresh off a series of blockbuster comedy specials, Jefferies moves behind the anchor desk and brings his sharp social commentary to a whole new audience. Let Jim tell you everything you need to know about hilarious, fun-for-the-whole-family topics like gun violence, slavery, pornography, and much more. Plus, some stuff about Donald Trump, because unfortunately there’s no way he can avoid talking about that. These are dark times in America. Jim Jefferies is here to make it a little bit darker.
Jefferies’s last standup special Freedumb debuted on Netflix back in July. Jefferies co-executive produces the Comedy Central pilot with Scott Zabielski (Tosh.0), Alex Murray, and Tim Sarkes, and Jason Reich (Daily Show, Full Frontal ) serves as head writer. No word yet on, should the pilot land a series order, whether it will air as a nightly or weekly series on the network.
