Fox just added two new comedy pilots. Variety reports that the network has added a pilot produced by Will Ferrell and written by Lon Zimmet (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Superstore) called LA —> Vegas, which centers on “a group of underdogs trying to find their place in the world, set on the Friday night flight from LAX to Vegas and the returning flight on Sunday, who all share the same goal: to come back a winner in the casino of life.†The second pilot, titled Type A, is based on the book Assholes: A Theory by Aaron James and follows “a group of consultants hand-picked to do the dirty work most professionals can’t handle: layoffs, downsizing, generally delivering horrible news. To everyone else, they’re the enemy, but to each other, they’re family.†The pilot was written by Lesley Wake-Webster (New Girl), and Jason Winer (Modern Family) is attached to direct.
