Beyoncé Dressed Up As a Goddess to Perform ‘Love Drought’ and ‘Sandcastles’ at the Grammys

Ten days after announcing she is pregnant with twins, Beyoncé performed two Lemonade tracks at the Grammys to show the rest of the music industry how it’s done. Accompanied by the twins in her womb and a collection of ladies in waiting, “Love Drought†and “Sandcastles†became hymns honoring the wonder in motherhood, even down to proud mom Tina Lawson introducing the performance. “Do you remember being born? Are you thankful for the hips that cracked? The deep velvet of your mother and her mother and her mother? There is a curse that will be broken,†Bey’s Lemonade voice-over bellowed as her girl gang took seats at a table turned runway. And then a very pregnant Beyoncé sat in a chair and sang “Love Drought†and “Sandcastles,†at one point defying gravity with her chair tipped all the way back.

Forget all that chatter about how pregnant Beyoncé couldn’t top her usual theatrics: Her just sitting in a chair was enough.
