One way to get people to stop talking about that one time you flubbed one of the yearâs biggest live televised events is simply to talk over them. After taking a quick breather from defending her honor against those who think she canât sing live after the New Yearâs Eve lip-syncing accusations, Mariah Careyâs back on the warpath, this time to keep us peons in our place dare we question how her performance went so awry. Mariahâs world, she explains, operates in a way we normals canât comprehend. âItâs just something where if I canât explain it to the entire world, then theyâre not going to understand it, because itâs not what they do. Just like I wouldnât understand somebody who had a desk job and how to do that. I couldnât. I literally am incapable of being in the real world and surviving,â she now tells Rolling Stone. At least we know Mariahâs more than capable of a good quote. Hereâs another in which her short fuse on the subject of NYE snaps:
âThis was out of my control, and had everything not been such a total chaotic mess, then I would have been able to make something happen. Even the dancers should have stopped dancing and helped me off the fucking stage. Iâm sorry. It was a mess, and I blame everybody, and I blame myself for not leaving after rehearsal.â
Yes, dahling, that âeverybodyâ includes you.
