In addition to announcing premiere dates for Nathan for You and Jordan Klepper’s new late night show, Comedy Central also announced some good news for Anthony Atamanuik’s The President Show, Jim Jefferies’s late night show, and Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj and his sketch comedy group Goatface. Both The President Show and The Jim Jefferies Show have been given series extensions, with President Show getting an additional seven episodes and The Jim Jefferies Show getting ten additional episodes. Starting on September 28th, The President Show will move to the midnight time slot right after The Opposition with Jordan Klepper. Meanwhile, The Jim Jefferies Show will go on hiatus after August 15th then resume with new episodes on September 19th.
Comedy Central also ordered a one-hour sketch comedy special starring comedy group Goatface, which includes Hasan Minhaj, Asaf Ali, Fahim Anwar, and Aristotle Athiras. “Hasan’s work has been so amazing on The Daily Show, at the White House Correspondents Dinner and as a standup, it’s no surprise his history with such a talented sketch group,†Kent Alterman said on the news. A premiere date for the special has not yet been announced.
