Following his bombshell New Yorker investigations into the Harvey Weinstein allegations, journalist Ronan Farrow has officially inked a three-film deal at HBO to develop and lead a series of documentaries tackling various abuses of power. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’ll get working on the first project later this year, while also producing “topical pieces†for other HBO platforms. In addition to his new HBO gig, he’ll stay on as a reporter at The New Yorker. This will be Farrow’s first major foray into television; he previously had a short-lived MSNBC show. He also attempted to launch his original Weinstein story at NBC, but the network controversially passed. Farrow isn’t the only journalist gaining traction after their Weinstein reporting blew the lid off his alleged abuse; New York Times writers Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, who broke the Weinstein story before Farrow, have also landed a book deal with Penguin.
