On Saturday, actress Scarlett Johansson called out actor James Franco, according to the Los Angeles Times, in a speech that pointed a finger at those who publicly claim to be allies of the Time’s Up movement but privately are alleged predators themselves. “My mind baffles,†she began, “How could a person publicly stand by an organization that helps to provide support for victims of sexual assault while privately preying on people who have no power?†She paused. “I want my pin back, by the way.â€
In a report published by the Los Angeles Times, five women have accused Franco of sexual misconduct with accusations ranging from coerced oral sex to exploitative work environments. Earlier this month, the actor accepted a Golden Globe for his work on The Disaster Artist while wearing a Time’s Up pin.
