On the eve of the release of Taraji P. Henson’s starring vehicle Proud Mary, it’s been announced that the actress will stay busy with an Emmett Till biopic she is slated to act in and produce. Henson will play Mamie Till-Mobley, Emmett’s mother, and it will center on the racially motivated torture and murder of the 14-year-old in Mississippi in 1955. As of now, John Singleton is attached to direct, and the movie will be developed through Henson’s own company, TPH Productions.
