Michelle Wolf is having a very busy 2018 – in addition to landing a weekly late night series at Netflix, she also just landed the toughest annual political comedy gig there is: the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. White House Correspondents’ Association president Margaret Talev announced today that Wolf has officially signed on as the featured entertainer for this year’s ceremony, which takes place Saturday, April 28th. “I’m delighted to announce ‘Nice Lady’ Michelle Wolf as our featured entertainer this year,†Talev said on the news. “Our dinner honors the First Amendment and strong, independent journalism. Her embrace of these values and her truth-to-power style make her a great friend to the WHCA. Her Pennsylvania roots, stints on Wall Street and in science and self-made, feminist edge make her the right voice now.â€
WHCD hosts from recent years include Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, Joel McHale, Cecily Strong, Larry Wilmore, and Wolf’s fellow Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj, who hosted last year’s Trump-free WCHD. No word yet on whether this year’s ceremony will also be a Trump-free one.
