This year’s Olympics have mainly served as a forum for proving to the world that America’s cool teens are cooler than everyone else’s. Take Red Gerard, for instance, the 17-year-old snowboarder who won a gold medal in slopestyle after staying up late bingeing Brooklyn Nine-Nine and sleeping through his alarm. Gerard, in the hat of a train tycoon, chatted with Jimmy Kimmel last night about his time in Korea, including a few stories about how his friends and family were shotgunning beers before his race. He’s planning to check out some curling later in the week, so just take a mental note that curling’s cool with the teens now.
