To celebrate National Puppy Day, the Isle of Dogs cast convened for a photo shoot with some rescue dogs. Fox Searchlight, Best Friends Animal Society, Paw Prints Screening Series (which hosted a dog-friendly screening of the new Wes Anderson film) brought Bill Murray, Bob Balaban, Liev Schreiber, Jason Schwartzman, Courtney B. Vance, Jeff Goldblum, Koyu Rankin, Kunichi Nomura, Tilda Swinton, and Anderson together to pose with puppies available for adoption from Best Friends animal rescue. “My dog would describe me as devoted, conscientious — I pick up his poop everyday — I can be firm when I need to. Woody sit! Down! Stay!†Jeff Goldblum told Vulture on the Isle of Dogs red carpet in NYC. “He would say I’m powerful. He would say I’m very sensual and romantical. I like to gaze into his eyes for long periods of time. I love to touch him, cuddle him, smell him. We sleep together sometimes. He’d say I’m warm and cozy.â€
Koyu Rankin voices Atari, a boy on a mission to rescue his beloved dog Spots.
Adopt this dog! Do it right now!
On the Isle of Dogs red carpet, Vulture asked Tilda Swinton how any of her five dogs would describe her. “Rosie’s the grandmother, but she’s always been the kind of mother. She and I are like partners. We’re both the mothers of the household,†Swinton said. “Dora thinks she rules the roost. I think she thinks that I’m her bitch, frankly, and she’s not wrong.â€
Courtney B. Vance voices the Isle of Dogs narrator.
Okay. That’s all. Enjoy the rest of your National Puppy Day. Isle of Dogs opens in theaters today.
