Back in January, Fox added a half-hour comedy pilot starring Lil Rel Howery called Rel, and now the project has added another star to the cast. According to Deadline, Sinbad will star alongside Howery in the Jerrod Carmichael-produced multi-cam comedy, which centers on Howery as “a prideful, self-made success who lives by the code to ‘always believe in yourself and great things will come’†who “finds that attitude put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his own barber. He tries to rebuild his life post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the West Side of Chicago who’s on a quest for love, respect and a new barber.†Sinbad has signed on to play Rel’s dad, “who seems to care more about his reputation in the community than he does about the happiness of his sons.†The pilot, which has been in development since last year, is written and executive produced by Howery, Josh Rabinowitz, and Kevin Barnett.
