Emmy-winning writer and The Chi creator Lena Waithe has a new comedy project in the works. Showtime announced this week that Waithe is executive producing a comedy pilot as part of her first-look deal with the network, and its title is a mouthful: How to Make Love to a Black Woman (Who May Be Working Through Some Sh*t). The show, created by The Chi writer Casallina “Cathy” Kisakye, would take on the format of a half-hour anthology series that “unfolds a new collection of characters in an authentic world, telling stories about connection and rejection that explore our most harrowing — and harrowingly comic — sexual secrets.”

“Cathy’s script is haunting, funny, and extremely vulnerable — it’s the kind of script that doesn’t come around very often,” Waithe said on the project. “I’m honored that Cathy trusts me with such a special project. I can’t wait for the world to see it.”

Meanwhile, Waithe’s other Showtime project, The Chi, returns to the network for its second season on Sunday, April 7.
