Anyone who’s seen a KFC commercial lately (or her sitcom) knows Reba McEntire is a gifted actor. But her thespian gifts almost made it to one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. McEntire was set to play the Unsinkable Molly Brown in James Cameron’s Titanic, but had to drop out when production was delayed. “We were on tour, and had a lot of people on the payroll,†she told Andy Cohen. Arena dates conflicted with shooting, and she chose the stage over the boat. It was incredibly classy (and Molly Brown-like) to take care of her people rather than pursue acting glory, but I can’t help but wonder if there’s a universe where McEntire not only stayed in the film, but sang “My Heart Will Go On.â€
