Meet Honor Swinton Byrne, daughter of Tilda. Byrne gave the breakout performance of Sundance 2019 in Joanna Hogg’s cinematic memoir The Souvenir, about a young filmmaker’s relationship with an older, manipulative man. (It looks a little like Phantom Thread, if that movie weren’t about an irascible genius, and was just about a jerk.) The synopsis, per A24: “A shy but ambitious film student (Byrne) begins to find her voice as an artist while navigating a turbulent courtship with a charismatic but untrustworthy man (Burke). She defies her protective mother (Tilda Swinton) and concerned friends as she slips deeper and deeper into an intense, emotionally fraught relationship that comes dangerously close to destroying her dreams.†See it in theaters May 17.
