The newest era of Hollywood’s book-to-television fixation is upon us. An Anonymous Girl, a New York Times best seller co-written by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen that nicely fits into the “X-chromosome psychological thriller†category, is being adapted by USA for a series. Per Variety, the network was quick to buy the rights to the novel shortly after its January release, and the adaptation is still in the “early stages†of production. As a basic logline, the novel follows a young woman who signs up for a psychology study to get some extra money, only for the overseeing doctor to slowly infiltrate and control her life in all aspects, supposedly for the benefit of the study. (Hint: Probably not!) Hendricks and Pekkanen also have another adaptation in the works with their previous thriller, The Wife Between Us, for the big screen.
