In the trailer for Someone Great, Gina Rodriguez is a recently dumped woman living in New York whose ex-boyfriend (Lakeith Stanfield) wasn’t willing to uproot his life and follow her to San Francisco. (In this way, Someone Great is also a fantasy-adventure film in which iconic music publications still exist in San Francisco and are hiring journalists.) Rodriguez’s Jenny is about to leave town, but before she says good-bye to New York, she has to have one more wild time with her best friends (Brittany Snow and DeWanda Wise). They take shots. They dance to Lizzo while they pregame, and they support each other through good times and bad. Someone Great is produced by Paul Feig, and written and directed by Sweet/Vicious creator Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. You can celebrate friendship with all of them on Netflix starting April 19.
