In the first trailer for the AMC adaptation of Joe Hill’s 2013 horror novel, NOS4A2, only the motorcycle-riding, leather jacket-wearing, and shaggy-haired Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) can save us from the soul-stealing Rolls-Royce-driving Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto), who feeds on children to maintain his immortality and then traps them for eternity in a Christmas-themed prison dimension. The series, whose title is pronounced nos-fuh-raa-too, is a nod to F. W. Murnau’s classic German Expressionist horror film, Nosferatu, and its vampire monster. “NOS4A2 showrunner Jami O’Brien and her incredible writing team have created something we didn’t know we needed until now,†said Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group, in a press release, “a perfectly unmissable intertwining of horror and Christmas.†One of the many book-to-TV adaptations coming out this year, the first episode of this supernatural horror series will air on June 2 right after the season-five premiere of Fear the Walking Dead.
