Canada’s kindest and wiggiest sitcom Schitt’s Creek may have recently become a bona fide hit, but the show’s creators have decided to go out on a high note. Co-creators Dan Levy and Eugene Levy announced today that Schitt’s Creek will end with a sixth and final season on CBC and Pop TV airing in 2020 (it is currently airing its fifth). “We are so grateful to have been given the time and creative freedom to tell this story in its totality, concluding with a final chapter that we had envisioned from the very beginning,†the Levys wrote in a joint statement. “It’s not lost on us what a rare privilege it is in this industry to get to decide when your show should take its final bow.†The last season of the show will contain 14 episodes and will start shooting in a few weeks. May it give Catherine O’Hara’s Moira Rose the glorious final bow she so richly deserves.
