Andre Holland is about to take a very jazzy trip across the pond. The Moonlight star has joined The Eddy, Netflix’s new musical drama from executive producer Damien Chazelle (La La Land, Whiplash, First Man). The show will have eight episodes, with dialogue in English, French, and Arabic. Holland plays Elliot Udo, a talented American jazz pianist who owns a struggling club in Paris and has an on-again-off-again relationship with the club’s lead singer. When his 15-year-old daughter shows up, emotionally stunted Elliot must face the music. Six-time Grammy Award winner Glenn Ballard (Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill, Michael Jackson’s Bad) will write songs. The show will be shot in France, so the Eiffel Tower is bound to make multiple moody appearances.
