James Wan’s horror machine, Atomic Monster, is taking on a Stephen King property, according to The Wrap. Through his partnership with New Line, which produces his Conjuring films, Wan will develop Salem’s Lot with his frequent collaborator, Gary Dauberman. The pair will produce, with Dauberman handling the script, which he’s done for the first two Annabelle films — he also directed the third devil-doll movie, which arrives this summer — The Nun, and It: Chapter Two. (All of those are also New Line movies, so these guys really have a monopoly setup at the classic horror banner.) Salem’s Lot has been adapted previously as a miniseries and multiple movies; the story centers on an author who returns to his hometown and finds the residents are transforming into vampires.
