The image of a police officer commandeering your vehicle to pursue an outlandish supervillain is a well-explored concept in cinema. In the film’s first trailer, Kumanil Nanjiani and Dave Bautista’s action-comedy Stuber instead explores what would happen if that same officer entrusted you with a gun, provoked you to anger and put your life at risk countless times in the span of an evening. Oh, also, in this scenario, your name is Stu. Let’s hope the film’s big reveal is just that Dave Bautista’s character never learned to drive. Co-starring Natalie Morales, Mira Sorvino, and Karen Gillan, Stuber hits theaters on July 12.
