If Georgia’s controversial abortion law is implemented on January 1st, the state risks losing a major investor. Bob Iger, the CEO of Walt Disney Company, told Reuters if the law stands, “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard. Right now we are watching it very carefully.†He then added, “I don’t see how it’s practical for us to continue to shoot there.†The move comes not long after a number of productions began pulling out of the state in response to the controversial bill being signed into law on May 7th. The law would ban all abortions where a heartbeat can be detected, which is before many women know they’re pregnant. Disney has filmed both Black Panther and Avengers: End Game in Georgia, which is home to about 92,000 production jobs.
