In 2017, Regina King signed a two-year contract with ABC to develop original content. Well, considering it’s now 2019, that pact has expired and King is on to redder pastures. Variety reports that the Oscar-winning actress has signed a first-look deal for her production company, Royal Ties, to develop movies and TV shows for Netflix — striking another blow to networks hoping to retain talent in the face of enticing streaming studio deals. King’s sister, Reina, will serve as head of production for Royal Ties, and together they will make more things that can win Emmys and Academy Awards for Regina. Okay!
