By

Elizabeth Olsen and Mamoudou Athie, the stars of Facebook Watch drama Sorry for Your Loss, had to grapple with issues of memory and remembrance while playing characters on the show.

“The way we rooted [our acting] was in A Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion,” Olsen said at the Vulture Emmy Studio. “Didion doesn’t want the memory of her husband and daughter to become fuzzy and soft. She wants all the details.”
