How do you follow up the year’s biggest box-office blockbuster — the second highest-grossing movie of all time — Avengers: Endgame? If you are Anthony and Joe Russo, the directing duo behind the record-breaking Marvel Cinematic Universe offering (as well as Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War), you steer clear of caped crusaders, but you still cast Chadwick Boseman. At San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, the brothers debuted a new trailer for 21 Bridges, the first film they produced under their new production banner, Agbo Films. The gritty thriller features Black Panther star Boseman as a New York City detective trying to track down a pair of cop killers before they can escape the island of Manhattan. After putting the entire island on lockdown, he quickly finds himself sucked into a morally ambiguous vortex where the line between who he’s pursuing and who’s pursuing him become increasingly blurred. (J. K. Simmons, Sienna Miller, and Taylor Kitsch are also there.) 21 Bridges hits theaters September 27.
