Rather, fellow Beatle Ringo Starr shocked attendees to close the show with his pal, radiating all that peace-and-love energy we’ve come to expect from the groovy chap. “We’ve got a surprise for us,†McCartney teased while introducing Starr, “a surprise for you, a surprise for everyone!†The duo wound up playing “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band†and “Helter Skelter†together, as we mime some peace signs to ourselves in solidarity.
