The Brothers Sims Is the Modern Odd Couple We Need

Featured Funny Video: The Brothers Sims

The Brothers Sims is the funniest thing you’ll see this week.

Starring and written by Jon Millstein and Zach Dunn and directed by Corey Sherman, the short explores what happens when two brothers — Jon and Zach, each heirs to their Sims-creator father’s fortune — decide to put their differences aside and spend the day together.

Jean-vest-and-hoodie-wearing Jon says upon arriving very late to meet his younger bro, “I’m sorry that I, uh, missed dad’s funeral. My art collective had to tag this freight train.†With that, we’re off to the races in what is 13 minutes of razor-sharp alt-comedy riffs, shaped by the indefatigable odd-couple format.

Stone-faced confessions from Jon, the rolling stone (“Up until now, the only bank I spent any time at is a riverbank, and the only bills that’ve concerned me are the bills of ducks that float byâ€), are met with the sweet stiltedness of Zach, the suit (“Well, that sounds simply epicâ€), in a plot that eviscerates the whole “blood is thicker than water†saccharine-reunion bit. Amid a machine-gun fire of absurdity, Millstein and Dunn never stray from their characters’ extremely stupid sense of seriousness, and it’s a sight to behold.
