Two extremely entertaining things happen in this clip from Tiffany Haddish’s appearance on last night’s The Late Show. First, she shares the handy relationship advice she recently received from John Mayer that involves willing a new romantic connection into existence through press photo splits. (What’s up, Giancarlo Stanton?) But more importantly, Haddish tells Colbert about her days working as a customer service agent for Alaska Airlines, where she was downgraded from working at the gate to handling lost luggage due to her tendency to announce flight boardings like Oprah. But she made the best of the new gig: “My goal every day was, Okay, they put me here. I got this! Anybody who walks in my door is gonna leave out happy. Period!†she says before role-playing a scenario with Colbert where, within a matter of minutes, she tracks down his lost bags from a pretend flight out of Chicago. One can only hope that if any of us get stuck in the unfortunate situation that is a bag lost by an airline, we’ll be met with the same standard of customer-service excellence that Haddish provides here.
